I was born in the country that no longer exists. Having lived though Russia’s turbulent reforms and transitions made me highly perceptive and curious about the world. Moscow of my early childhood is nothing like Moscow of today. I’ve also lived in New York, Washington D.C., Northern California, Tuscany and various regions of Spain. For the last five years I’ve been splitting my time between Moscow and Hamburg working freelance. In my writing, I focus on various challenges a modern woman faces during our high-paced times, from personal development to work and family balance to cultural differences and adapting to change to relationships in the digital age and social trends of sorts. I’ve graduated with honours from the Journalism Faculty of the Moscow State University and then got my Master’s degree at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York. I’ve worked for nearly 15 years for the Russian edition of Marie Claire magazine, first as a special correspondent, than ten years as a Deputy Chief Editor. I’ve traveled half of the world chasing the stories that inspire. I’ve also written for Vogue/Russia, Architectural Digest/Russia, Forbes Woman/Russia, Marie Claire/USA edition, Conde Nast Traveler/Russia and many other leading Russian and international media outlets, both print and online. I've also written a book, “Love and Broccoli”, on the challenges of modern parenting and modern food cultures across Europe and Russia. I speak five foreign languages (English, Italian, French, Spanish, German) - learning foreign languages has always been easy for me. |
